Who wouldn’t want a modern home perched in the mountains? Today, we look at a stunning family retreat dubbed the Mount Veeder Outpost. The two-story dwelling is located on a rocky ravine in the mountains of Napa. The contemporary home consists of a single cube that aims to mimic the charred bark of the surrounding redwoods.
The exterior is clad in corrugated steel, adding to its minimal-meets-modern aesthetic. The folds in the facade act as a funnel to the front door, inviting visitors inside. The interior is warm and welcoming, lined with nautical-grade Russian Birch plywood. Floor-to-ceiling windows open the box to unrivaled views of the landscape, immersing the home with nature and natural light. The glazing continues upstairs in the lofted main bedroom. This provides breathtaking views over the trees and to the vineyards below.
The home is an excellent example of modern rustic luxury. Take a closer look at the retreat in the images below and head over to Atelier Jorgensen to learn more about the home. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more exceptional architecture coming very soon.
