It’s been a tradition of sorts over the past several Summers, one that continues this year. Former President Barack Obama started sharing an annual Summer playlist, and today he’s back with the 2021 installment. This year’s edition features a host of interesting selections, such as notable tracks from Migos, Drake, Lil Baby, and others. The 38-track also includes some of 2021’s biggest releases.
The collection features tracks such as Silk Sonic’s “Leave The Door Open,” Migos’ “Straightening,” and “Wants and Needs” by Drake and Lil Baby. Elsewhere we get some classics like “Everybody Loves The Sunshine” by Roy Ayers Ubiquity and “The Tears of A Clown” by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles.” Obama took to Twitter to speak about the playlist, stating: “With so many folks getting together with family and friends, there’s a lot to celebrate this summer.” He added, “Here’s a playlist of songs I’ve been listening to lately—it’s a mix of old and new, household names and emerging artists, and a whole lot in between.”
