For music fans, we are always on the hunt for our next favorite track. Each and every Friday we put together a weekly playlist dubbed ‘A Curation of Sound.’ The playlist includes a deep dive into the week of new music as we compile the best new listening material of the week. Well, after spending some time with all of those new gems, we have cut the playlist down to five new tracks that you need in your life.

It’s been a busy few weeks for music, which means we’ve been afforded with an array of excellent new material. This week’s list of five songs you need in your life is packed full of outstanding new tracks. Mahalia shows up on the list, pairing up with Ella Mai on “What You Did.” The ATL duo of EarthGang make the cut with “Top Down,” while Melii serves up “No Hard Feelings.” Danny Brown makes his return with “Dirty Laundry,” while Post Malone’s “I’m Gonna Be” is something special.

“What You Did” by Mahalia & Ella Mai 

What’s not to love about this one? Mahalia’s ‘Love & Compromise’ is exceptional, and this is just one of the many standouts. The track finds Mahalia and Ella Mai sharing this soulful instrumental that includes a sample of Cam’ron’s “Oh Boy.” The two bring their a-game and provide something quite smooth. “Top Down” by EarthGang

The duo from Atlanta recently served up their new opus, ‘MirrorLand.’ “Top Down” is one of a handful of standouts from the project, which has garnered quite a bit of attention. The track finds the duo bringing their uncanny and undeniable talents to the track, getting something unique and refreshing to excel upon. It’s no wonder the duo are being compared to Outkast. Their talent behind the mic is exceptional, and their sound is unique and contagious. What more do we have to say? Don’t sleep on this one!

“No Hard Feelings” by Melii

Always delivering something fresh and infectious, Melii is at it again. “No Hard Feelings” finds the artist showing off her range and depth, supplying something quite addictive. The track’s smooth instrumental provides a nice home for the artist to do her thing, and she does so rather well. We’ve had this one steady rotation since our first listen. “Dirty Laundry” by Danny Brown

It’s been far too long since we got some new material from Danny Brown. The Detroit native is getting ready to drop off a new album, and he returns with this. “Dirty Laundry” is solid, an infectious showcase of his unadulterated talents in the process. The track has a menacing, undeniable appeal that we can’t get enough off, while Danny brings his uncanny lyrical prowess to the track. This is certainly one we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on. “I’m Gonna Be” by Post Malone

Posty just dropped off his new album ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding.” The album is chocked full of impressive new material, as expected. However, “I’m Gonna Be” is one of the many standouts. The track finds Post effortlessly showing off his depth and range, while also showing off his growth as an artist. Post always delivers something worth rocking with, and this is just the latest.
