Old Becomes New | The Aspen Ridge House

Modern architecture comes in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and forms. We’ve seen some stunning examples of contemporary design, and today we get a look at another prime example. The  Aspen Ridge House is located in the Rocky Mountains, running parallel to the range in the process. The home offsets the rugged scenery with breath-taking modern design. The dwelling was originally built in 1968. These days the structure stands as a stunning example of blending both old and new. The home spreads horizontally across the ridgeline, sitting behind a series of remnant stone walls.

The exterior is clad in dark gray metal siding, which extends from the stone to form the exterior’s western facade. The interior is outfitted with timber beams and wood-clad walls and flooring, which run throughout the home. These details add a rustic warmth while accenting the existing wood-burning fireplaces. The fireplaces pay homage to the structure’s heritage, offering a unique dose of detail in the process. Throughout the living areas are contemporary works of art that hand alongside the views of the natural surroundings.

Take a closer look at this eye-catching home in the images below and find out more about the home from Rowland+Broughton. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding architecture and design coming soon.
