Old Becomes New | The Icon “Derelict” 1949 Hudson Coupe

The good folks over at Icon know a thing or two about restoring classic cars. They also know a few things about customizing vehicles as well. Icon is expanding their “Derelict” line with a real gem. The Derelict lineup adds a Hudson Coupe to the stable, which arrives as something incredible. Icon’s “Derelict” 1949 Hudson Coupe is a beauty. This machine is powered by a supercharged 6.2L 638 hp V8 and a 4L85-E automatic transmission.

The ride is also host to an adjustable 4-wheel independent suspension with Brembo brakes, while paired with an Art Morrison IRS with a Dana 60 differential. The sleek, legendary lines of the body are still intact. The black gloss paint job adds an intimidating aesthetic that is clean and classic. The interior is just as impressive, rocking hand-dyed wild alligator leather with Moore & Giles leather. The German wool carpeting is a nice touch, while a wool headliner, alligator-trimmed sun visors, a polyurea-coated floorpan, and underbody add to the allure.

The ride boasts an impressive Focal audio system, which helps brings this legend even further into our modern world. Take a closer look at this exceptional machine in the images below and head over to Icon to find out more about their latest “Derelict” edition.

In other automotive-related news, have you had the chance to check out Lexus’ special edition Nori Green Pearl LC 500? If not, it’s certainly one worth finding out more about. Keep it locked for more new rides, customs and classics coming soon.
