Own It! Paul Walker’s 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra FAM

The Shelby Cobra is an icon in its own right. However, the Shelby Cobra CXS1000 is one of the most coveted and sought-after sports cars of all time. Only fourteen of these beautiful and powerful machines have been created, and Shelby 427 Cobra serial number CSX1010 is going up for sale. This stunning machine is an ultra-limited special edition model with a rather remarkable ownership record.

The continuation car was commissioned by Carroll Shelby himself in the late ‘90s. He owned the vehicle for several years before it eventually found it’s way into the ownership of the late Paul Walker. Just one of only two FAM-spec units produced, the FAM moniker stands for ‘Ferrari’s Ass is Mine.’ The vehicle is powered by a matching numbers Shelby 427 FE aluminum 550hp V8 which is paired with a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission.

The Shelby 427 Cobra has been outfitted with a Shelby aluminum differential housing, four-wheel independent suspension, Wilwood brakes, and Shelby calipers. The ride is finished off by Halibrand-style 15” pin drive wheels, which accented with FAM badging inside and out. The Cobra’s AC-built hand-rolled aluminum body boasts a Rosso Corsa red color scheme, while the interior features bespoke tan leather.

Other details include a stainless steel roll bar, Shelby custom carpeting, and an S/C dash layout. This 1965 Shelby 427 Corba FAM is set to hit the auction block at Mecum’s Glendale Sale in March of 2021.
