The Mecum Auction has long been known for showcasing some of the most beautiful rides with some of the highest price tags ever seen. Attendees at the June showcase may think they’re a little high as well when a 42-Foot Limo-Jet takes the stage. Rest assured though, the brownie at lunch wasn’t so special but this custom limo is.
Developed by Oregonian Dan Harris and build-managed by Exotic Coach, this one of a kind fully functioning custom took two years of research and development to pull off. And now it’s begun its final descent into Mecum as a standout offering.
40,000 hours went into the real-life jet before it was a roadworthy one of a kind Candy Red luxury cruiser. A steel skeletal frame served as the foundation which the Learjet fuselage was secured to. The “Learmousine” features an 8.1-liter Chevrolet Vortec V-8 truck engine that is housed in a patent-pending rear engine bay. The drivetrain, suspension, and computer system are neatly tucked inside the fuselage as well.
The only part I don’t love is the “aesthetics only” jet engines, but 400-hp to the wheels will damn sure get the 28” Diablo wheels moving with no need for a landing gear. The destination won’t matter either once you’re inside. Behind the rehauled, automotive controlled cockpit is a party bus inspired Limo interior designed around a 17,000-watt Showtime A/V system with a 42-inch plasma screen TV and automated lighting. 10 of your friends and a bunch of strangers can fill out the 18 passenger capacity with ample room to party.
If rolling around in a street-legal jet converted into a rad limo wasn’t enough of a flex, a Chevy 2500 Pick up and trailer are included for the ultimate display of sickness. Of course, that’s built into the sky-high bids this unique piece of both land and sky is sure to pull in.
