If you haven’t gotten familiar with the sounds of Paris Texas, pay attention. The duo has been teasing their arrival over the last few weeks, and last Wednesday, they made their official introduction. The group includes Louie Pastel and Felix, and they hail from South Central Los Angeles. The fellas unleashed their first single last week entitled “Heavy Metal.”
This isn’t your typical rap track, and that is exactly why we love it. The track finds a duo offering an eccentric sound, showing off an unadulterated sound with punk influence and gritty appeal. “Heavy Metal” is driven by these menacing, almost ominous guitar riffs, which are paired with sparse drum work during the verses. However, the hook comes in and offers an energetic, rock-inspired sound that is sure to grab your attention. Louie and Felix showcase their respective talents behind the mic, cooking up something quite impressive and catchy in the process. This duo is certainly one to keep an eye on.
