Practice Social Distancing | “Netflix Party” Allows Friends To Remotely Watch Together

In these times of quarantines, self-isolation, and social distancing, we still need to speak with our friends and family. The good folks over at Netflix have come up with a unique way to do so, the unofficial “Netflix Party” Google Chrome extension. The extension comes from a group of developers and has been available for a few years now. The add-on is described as one that “synchronizes video playback and adds group chat to your favorite Netflix shows.”

The extension is seeing a boom as health officials from all over the world are calling for self-isolation due to the coronavirus. All users need to do is install the free Google Chrome-exclusive extension on their browser. Play a TV show or movie on Netflix, launch the extension, and send the URL to individuals anywhere. The Netflix users who click on the link will automatically be redirected to the streaming service’s website. From there, it allows folks to access to the link to watch the episode or movie at the same time.

To find out more, head over to the Netflix Party extension page and check it out. Try it, watch something with your friends and stay safe. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the entertainment side of the world.
