Privacy Prevails | Instagram Launches New Messaging App Threads

About a month ago, there was word floating around the interwebs that Instagram was gearing up to unleash a new messaging app. Fast forward a few weeks, and Instagram has officially introduced Threads. The new “camera-first” messaging app comes as a standalone app meant to share photos, videos, messages, Stories, and more with your Instagram close friends list. Users can choose who contacts them on the app, which makes it much more private than Instagram.

Threads opens directly to a camera and features addable shortcuts. This allows you to share photos and videos in just two taps effortlessly. You can also update your status using recommendations such as “Studying” and many more. example. Direct messages with your Close Friends will still appear in your Instagram app, alongside Threads. This is certainly an interesting move for Instagram, but is it one that users will adopt? Time will tell. This is just the latest from Instagram, who stays on the hunt for new ways to make our user experience a little more unique and enjoyable.

Threads begins rolling out globally today, so keep your eye out for much more on this coming very soon. In the meantime, keep it locked right here with The Culture Curators for more from the world of tech coming soon.
