Rare Rides! 1965 James Young Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III

There is nothing quite like the classics when it comes to timeless, iconic, and beautiful automobiles. Back in the 1960s, luxury automobiles were something remarkable and memorable. Coachbuilding was in its twilight, and some outstanding craftsmanship was put into automobiles during the year. Today we take a look at a beautiful classic Rolls-Royce that is set to hit the auction block.

This 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III by James Young is something unique. James Young was one of the last great British coachbuilders. Most of the company’s work was with the Phantom V; however, six fixed-head Silver Cloud III coupes were created. It was one of the most elegant models of the classic Rolls-Royce’s, offering a balance of luxury and speed.

This particular Silver Cloud III is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 and took over 2,600 hours to complete. The car was initially delivered to Melville Thompson, Esq. of Northern Ireland. It underwent restoration from a former James Young employee in 1997 and has been a part of its current collection since 2007. This beautiful machine is a pristine example of Rolls-Royce luxury.

Take a look at the vehicle in the images and head over to RM Sotheby’s to find out more. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the automotive world coming soon.
