Ready To Race! Valkyrie Porsche 356 Antarctic Race Car

Imagine taking a 20,000-mile trip across all seven continents by driving across Antarctica. Well, Renee Brinkerhoff of Valkyrie Racing recently did just that and did so in a vintage Porsche 356. This story begins in 2017, when Brinkerhoff drove a 356 across 16,000-foot high mountains, through jungles and deserts, and more. Now Brinkerhoff will head to the bottom of the Earth in the Valkyrie Porsche 356 Antarctic Race Car.

The ride will be specifically modified with treads on the rear wheels and skis on the front. Design and fabrication help comes from Lotus senior chassis design engineer Kieron Bradley, ensuring that the vehicle will be able to withstand the harsh terrain and weather. The modifications will also be able to be swapped with studded ice tires without needing to be realigned. Brinkerhoff will make her attempt in December 2022. T
