Road & Race-Ready | The McLaren 620R Road-Legal Race Car

The need for speed is very real here at The Culture Curators. McLaren is always looking for ways to push out more horsepower for our driving desires. Today the automaker is back with something new, offering something track-ready, but road-legal. The McLaren 620R Road-Legal Race Car is everything we’ve been waiting for. Race cars are crafted with strict rule requirements. McLaren wanted to find out what the 570S GT was capable of, creating the 620R, a road-legal race car.

The 620R starts with the 570S GT’s carbon-fiber Monocell II chassis tub. It is also outfitted with lightweight adjustable dampers with stiffer springs, roll bars, and motor mounts. There are even specially-designed aluminum control arms for a more aggressive suspension geometry. A braking system with components from the Senna provides massive stopping power. The car was outfitted with -inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, while a seven-speed transmission gets McLaren’s Inertial Push system. The aero pack from the 570S GT is used. We see a massive rear wing, active elements, and a rooftop scoop that feeds a re-tuned V8. The car pushes 610 horsepower, which equates to a 0-60 mph time of just 2.9 seconds.

Take a closer look at this stunning machine in the images below and head over to McLaren to find out more about the 620R right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more new rides coming very soon.
