There is something we find inspiring about unique architecture. We all have our own idea of a “dream home,” and today, we get a look at one known as Little House Big Shed. The home is the brainchild of David Van Galen Architecture, located on an island inlet in the Pacific Northwest. The home sits at the edge of a heavily wooded ravine, while the structure itself is split between two volumes.
The narrow spaces were created to minimize disruption to the natural landscape. The home sits on five acres, and the two volumes feature a shed-like look with slanted metal roofs that are clad Corten steel panels. The larger space includes the main living areas and residential spaces, while the small space features a studio and guest rooms. Both volumes feature expansive panels of glazing while opening up to large decks and terraces that provide a stunning view of the forest.
The home is sleek and unique, eye-catching and thoughtful. Take a closer look at Little House Big Shed in the images and find out more from David Van Galen Architecture. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding examples of modern architecture coming very soon.
