Rustic Luxury | The Naila House By BAAQ’

Modern architecture holds a special place in our hearts. Today we get a look at a stunning structure that fuses local Oaxacan culture with contemporary design. The Naila House was designed by BAAQ’, offering an idyllic beach escape. The house is comprised of four volumes that sit seamlessly on the rocky coastline of Mexico’s Puerto Escondido. Each volume sits on a concrete base, forming a cross-shaped courtyard with a swimming pool in the center.

The wood frame structures are clad in palm bone, which serves as a nod to the area’s traditional beach huts. The interior features clay and earth floors, as well as a clay stove in the kitchen. These unique details were inspired by local details, offering a unique and eye-catching aesthetic in the process. The volumes folding doors open the living spaces directly to the exterior, providing unrivaled views of the Pacific Ocean in the process.

Take a look at The Naila House in the images below and find out more about the dwelling from BAAQ’. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more modern architecture and design coming very soon.
