The musician, producer, mogul, and more, Salaam Remi, is back! Back in June, he served up a new project entitled ‘Is It Because I’m Black.’ Today he’s back at it again, this time around dropping on a new project entitled ‘Black On Purpose.’ The last time we heard from Mr. Remi, he linked up with Black Thought, CeeLo Green, Anthony Hamilton, and more.
Now, just months later, he’s back with a new project with features from Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, CeeLo Green, Bilal, Common, Teedra Moses, D-Nice, Common, and more. The new seventeen-track project includes a bevy of excellent new material that we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on.
Salaam shows off his talents all the way through, joined by an array of talented musicians of all sorts. Some tracks that you need to hear immediately include “No Peace,” “Black Love,” and “Tear It Down.” Some of our personal favorites include “Comin’ Outta the Rain,” “Push Time,” “Black Progress,” and “Yonder.” Mr. Remi delivers quite an infectious project, something cohesive, refreshing, and impressive, to say the least.
