Save The Date! SXSW 2021 With Charli XCX, Demi Lovato & Tom Petty

SXSW was one of the first music festivals to cancel due to the global pandemic last year. However, it’s 2021, and the show must go on. Today we get our first look into the 2021 SXSW Festival, which will take on a much different approach. This year marks a music-doc heavy year for SXSW, though fans can expect to find out much more about their favorite artists.

The festival will be headlined by documentaries from Charli XCX, Demi Lovato, and the late Tom Petty. Charli XCX’s Alone Together provides fans with a look at her creative journey when creating an album in 40 days. Demi Lovato’s YouTube Originals documentary Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil is set to premiere opening night. The film takes a look at the “aspects that led to Lovato’s nearly fatal overdose in 2018, and her awakenings in the aftermath.”

Tom Petty will return as well with Somewhere You Feel Free. The documentary includes a “newly discovered archive of 16mm film” working on his hit 1994 record Wildflowers. Fans can expect an intimate look at the album and Mr. Petty’s creative process. The SXSW 2021 line-up features a total of 75 films.

SXSW 2021 is set to run from March 26th to 21. To find out more, head over to the SXSW website and make your plans accordingly. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more entertainment news coming very soon.
