After unleashing a restock of the Vuarnet x Noah collaboration, Cuarnet returns with their latest drop. This time around, the French legacy eyewear brand serves up a first look at the new “Dogtown” capsule collection. The new range finds inspiration from the 1970’s Z-Boys skateboarding crew from the “Dogtown” area of Santa Monica, California.
Vuarnet came across early footage of the crew rocking original Vuarnet shades and decided to pay homage. The new range includes limited-edition eyewear and clothing, all as a special tribute to the iconic skateboarding crew. For the capsule, the brand collaborated with On Y Va, a crew of skateboarders, surfers, and artists from Biarritz, France. They created their very own “French California” by redesigning Vuarnet’s iconic logo with the 70’s Z-Boys era and subculture in mind.
The collection includes a limited run of hoodies and GOTS certified organic cotton t-shirts with On Y Va’s logo redesign. Elsewhere we find 100 pairs of Dogtown sunglasses in a dark blue colorway, each with its own unique serial number. The design features an oversized, curvy aesthetic that is made of bio-acetate. The shapes and layers are reminiscent of skateboard designs from the ’70s while paired with the brand’s high-tech Greylynx mineral glass lenses that are 100% natural and 100% recyclable.
