Seasonal Styles | The North Face Reveals Fall/Winter 2019 Icon Collection

Finally, a reboot we can get behind from the jump. The North Face’s Icon series has long been a staple of the outdoor adventure experience. As a style and trail-tech innovator since day one, It’s always fun when The North Face takes it back to their roots. In the latest release from the long-reigning king of the Mountain, some of the all-time favorites from the past have received a little update.

The FW19 Icon Collection brings back the Mountain Jacket GTX II (1990), Retro Mountain Light GTX (1994), Retro Denali (1995), Retro Nuptse (1996) and Base Camp Duffel (1978). Modern technology reinvents the classic silhouettes without threatening the familiar features that made these items genuinely iconic. Gore-Tex water and windproof fabrics surrounding thermal insulating materials beef up the already awesome Mountain Jacket.

The Retro Denali fleece added a pit-zip for a little added ventilation when your effort might exceed the environmental air conditioning. The Base Camp Duffel got an update for the equipment it never it would need. An Extended zipper pocket has been tweaked to fit phones and wallets. Proving they’ve been ahead of their time for decades, the Nuptse Jacket and will be released as they always have been. 700-fill insulation, stowable hood, and shiny ripstop shell are all true to form. Primary color hues (yellow, red and blue) and neutral black accents, make the winter-ready layering pieces extra versatile.

The Icon Series FW19 from The North Face is currently available on the Hong Kong site, but the western release is expected to be available shortly.
