Modern architecture is inspiring and eye-catching. We’ve seen some beautiful examples of modern architecture from across the globe, and today we get a look at a brilliantly designed villa in Switzerland. The Comano Concrete Villa is located on a former vineyard in Comano Hills, designed and brought to life by DF_DC. The Concrete Villa pulls inspiration from its geometric site, getting its shape from the plot’s elongated trapezoid shape.
In order to conceal the interior from neighboring homes, a monolithic wall was constructed. The barrier was created with the traditional technique of strollato, which is a combination of pebbles and cement. There is also a series of rectangular fins for added texture.
The rear of the volume features a sculpted pavilion which extends the space to surround an outdoor terrace and pool. The interior is host to polished concrete floors and white walls, offering a minimalist, contemporary aesthetic throughout. The modern black furnishings are a nice contrast, offering a nice balance along the way.
Take a closer look at the Comano Concrete Villa in the images below and find out more about the structure from DF_DC right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more examples of modern architecture and contemporary design.
