If you are a fan of outstanding timepieces, chances are you a fan of The Armoury. Known for bringing classic tailoring to the modern man, the imprint has become known for seeking out the finest materials and most skillful artisans. The Armoury is back today with a look at their latest collaboration, the “Total Eclipse” watch. The timepiece was crafted in conjunction with H. Moser & Cie referencing a solar eclipse’s rarity and mysterious nature.
The timepiece features a Vantablack dial on most of the surface, representing the darkness experienced when the moon obstructs the sun. Details of steel or red gold rehaut represent the halo of the solar corona.
Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie, spoke about the timepiece in detail. He stated: “Absolutely everything in this model links back to this quest for ultimate elegance, combining classicism with a contemporary feel.” Meylan went on to add, “It’s 38-mm diameter is perfectly balanced. We opted for the smallest and finest of our movements, the hand-wound HMC 327 calibre, with an offset small second at 6 o’clock, reminiscent of the pocket-watch style.” Only 28 pieces have been created, so act fast if you want one.
