Simply Stunning | A Look Inside The Edifice Cabin

Sometimes we just need to get away. Today we get a look at a great way to do exactly that, a stunning and straightforward structure dubbed the Edifice Cabin. This beautiful modern cabin is isolated in the woods of the Catskills Mountains, offering a visual representation of neo-transcendentalism and the ideas of Emerson and Thoreau. Small but stunning, the cabin features 500 square feet of space, boasting a remote location and self-sustaining infrastructure.

The cabin features a minimalist exterior that is clad in blackened cedar and features just two narrow windows on the south and west facade. The structure features no obvious point of entry. However, the north end opens up to an inset deck, finished with contrasting natural wood tones. The warm hue extends into the interior, where the living spaces are split into four zones. There is an area to live, one for cooking, another for dining, and then one for sleep, of course. The structure also features solar power, water harvesting, and composting toilet, while the wood-burning stove provides heat. The glazing fills the spaces with natural light and offers stunning views of the natural surroundings.

Take a closer look at this stunning structure in the images below and find out more about the Edifice Cabin from Marc Thorpe Design. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more modern architecture and contemporary design coming soon.
