Sip Something New! Castle & Key Unveil Restoration Rye

As you know by now, we love a good drink. Today the good folks over at Castle & Key Distillery are back to announce the launch of its Restoration Rye. This marks the first whiskey from the Castle & Key team since its founding in 2014. The highly anticipated release pays homage to the restoration of the historic property, which was once the iconic Old Taylor Distillery. The original distillery was built over a century ago, while Restoration Rye celebrates the past.

Castle & Key will also release Roots of Ruin Gin and Sacred Spring Vodka. All of these new blends will appear in dynamic, newly designed bottles. Jon Brown, Quality Manager at Castle & Key Distillery, spoke about their highly anticipated whiskey, stating: “We are more than excited to release our Restoration Rye, a spirit that is thoughtful in every detail, from grain to glass, and is a true representation of the team’s hard work and attention to detail over the past five years.”

The 2020 Restoration Rye release features two batches, both with unique flavor profiles. The first batch is crafted from a blend of 60 barrels, while batch two is comprised of 57 barrels. Batch one features aromas of Brown Sugar, Cinnamon Toast, Dried Figs, Pipe Tobacco and Baking Chocolate. This offers a taste that includes notes of Sweet Baking Spice, Cinnamon Roll, Caramelized Sugar, and Dried Currants. Batch two includes aromas of Bright, Lemon Peel, Toasted Oak, Apricot, Wild Flower, Honey, and Graham Cracker. The blend features notes of Pie Crust, Honeysuckle, Mint, Agave Nectar, Dry Cinnamon, and Light Stone Fruit.
