For those of you who haven’t encountered the sounds of SiR, it’s time to wake up. He’s been making noise for a few years now with his soulful sounds and modern approach. Today the singer/songwriter is back with a brand new single called “Hair Down.”
The track is the first new track from SiR since he dropped off his ‘November’ album over a year ago. The TDE affiliate returns, linking up with Kendrick Lamar. The duo offers up something smooth, showcasing their respective talents over top of a contagious, laid back instrumental. Driven by smooth, mellow drums and these cool, incredibly catchy melodies, the fellas get a nice home to excel. With a new project arrive on August 30th, SiR gets things going with the first single from the album.
The single has us excited about what’s ahead, and SiR seems excited about it as well. He recently spoke with Zane Lowe, opening up about working with Kendrick. SiR stated: “The song is about being confident in yourself, and he’s living his life, and he definitely let it be known in that verse.” He added, “I’m a huge fan, I don’t even got to really say it, you know what I mean? You should’ve seen me in a session when he was recording his verse; I’m sitting there like a kid.”
