slowthai – Thoughts

The one and only slowthai is back. After serving up his very own face mask earlier this year, the Northampton rapper is back with a brand new single for our listening enjoyment. The track is called “Thoughts,” which was produced by JD. Reid. The three-minute track arrives in celebration of the MC’s 26th birthday, and the artist doesn’t disappoint. The track’s context is quite random as slowthai speaks on everything in his life.

He weaves together wordplay about drugs, turning his life around, and how music helped. slowthai raps: “I been to hell and back, came back on track / Couldn’t out my flame, I done told you that / Rub dirt on my name like it won’t come back / I got no one to blame, so I gotta come back.” The track will not be featured on his upcoming album TYRON, which is set to drop on February 5, 2021.

However, he recently opened up about his upcoming album. slowthai stated that the project was “created during a difficult time in my life,” adding, “[I] hope this album can be the light if you’re in the dark, and to know you’re not alone. [I]t’s okay to be yourself, f*ck everything else. [L]earn, grow, aim to be better than you were yesterday.”

Check out the visuals for “Thoughts” in the stream below and look for much more from slowthai coming soon. While you’re at it, be sure to stay tuned with The Culture Curators for all the best in new music.
