Stamp of Approval! USPS Reveals Commemorative ‘Star Wars’ Stamps

The United States Postal Service is back in the news feed. This time around, the USPS has announced and teased ten upcoming collectible stamps with Star Wars. The new collection of stamps celebrates the original film’s 50th anniversary, offering up a slew of memorable characters to choose from. The stamps were designed by Greg Breeding, with William Gicker acting as the art director.

The lineup aims to brings awareness to Disney’s commitment to science, technology, engineering, and math. It also serves as an extension of work between “Star Wars: Force for Change” and pre-K-12 nonprofit organization FIRST.

The stamp collection includes a host of droids of Star Wars. Along the way, we find the likes of IG-11, R2-D2, K-2SO, D-O, L3-37, BB-8, and of course, C-3PO. Elsewhere the collection features a GNK (or Gonk) power droid, 2-1B surgical droid, and C1-10P, also known as “Chopper.”
