Stand Up | Futura, KAWS & Other Artists Plead To Save USPS

People are concerned about the United States Postal Service. By now, you’ve seen it in your news feed, as word spreads about funding issues regarding the Postal Service. A number of social posts seen on the interwebs are urging people to help save the USPS. A few artists have stepped in the fight as well, including Futura, KAWS, and more.

Futura took to Instagram to speak his mind. He stated: “As a former postal worker who loved to work the graveyard shift, I will always support the USPS. Thank you for the job you and your cowers continue to do every day in these terribly troubled times.” The writer and performance artist, ALOK also showed their support along with American artist Lmnopi and Portland-based illustrator AliRae Aguirre.

Trump admitted that he is opposed to $25 billion in new funding for the agency. The Postal Service was in financial woes before Trump took office. The agency lost $69 billion USD in the past 11 years, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office.

If you are interested in helping protect the USPS, you should contact your respective senators and representatives via phone call or email. You can also sign this Change.org petition and text “USPS” to 5049. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the intersection of lifestyle and art.
