Stop & Stay Awhile | Forte San Giorgio

Look, sometimes, an escape from reality is needed. Today we get a look at the Forte San Giorgio. This stunning retreat is a revived and refined 16th-century fortress for Genoan soldiers. The property is located 500 feet above the sea on Capraia, Italy in the Tuscan archipelago. The structure has undergone a decade-long renovation. The Medieval design features 11 bedrooms and ten bathrooms, which is spread across the 37,000-square-foot interior.

The living spaces are spread out among five buildings, featuring original vaulted ceilings, polished plaster walls, and Venetian briccole floors. The star of the show is a kitchen designed in collaboration with Michelin-starred Chef Riccardo De Pra. This is connected to a 30-person dining room, offering a vibrant and regal aesthetic. Guests are invited to sip cocktails on one of four expansive terraces while two pools overlook the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Need an escape? This is a great place to do so. Check out this beautiful retreat in the images below and head over to The Thinking Traveller to find out more. Book your stay and keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more great travel destinations coming very soon.
