Stop & Stay Awhile | Villa Kuro

We have a thing for modern architecture and contemporary design. We’ve seen some beautiful examples of such, especially in renovations and redesigns. Today we get a look at a perfect example of both dubbed Villa Kuro. This stunning structure was originally built in the 1960s and was recently transformed into a minimalist retreat in Joshua Tree. The mid-century modern ranch has been designed with tranquility in mind, boasting a relaxing hideaway among the California desert.

The interior features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, embodying the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi. The dwelling features handmade finishes and natural materials, antique furniture, and expansive glazing. The unrivaled views of the natural surroundings are flawless, letting Joshua Tree be the star of the show.

Villa Kuro is situated on 3.6 acres offering plenty of opportunities to take advantage of the great outdoors. This includes a cactus garden courtyard, while the surrounding area is great for exploring, hiking, and much more. Finish off each night with a stargazing session from the saltwater hot tub or the fire pit.

Take a closer look at this beautiful retreat in the images below and find out more about the destination from Airbnb right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more great excuses to travel the world.
