There is footwear for everyday use, then there is footwear for special occasions. Today the Italian shoemaker Jacopo De Carli takes over the news feed with a special collaboration with Clarks Originals. The imprint’s Wallabees are an iconic and eye-catching design worthy of being in any footwear collection. The Italian shoemaker and Clarks Originals have aligned to create something quite intriguing, delivering two new iterations of the high-top Wallabees.
The first pair is adorned in beige nubuck along the upper with multicolored paint splatter on the toe box. The shoes are also draped in an assortment of Wallabees fabric tags threaded along the lateral and rear. Each of the tags comes from previous Clarks releases and arrives in various materials and branding. A triangular pouch is situated on the tongue, while a stacked gum sole unit provides comfort.
The second pair arrives with an algae-like scheme across suede uppers with thick green, yellow, and black shoelace bundles on each eyelet. A fabric pouch is seen above the laces, while a classic gum outsole finishes things off. The custom pairs are now being given away to Clarks Originals’ Instagram followers based in the United Kingdom. While we’re sad these won’t be available in stores; it’s a collaboration worth noting.
Take a closer look at this stunning pair of Wallabees in the images and head over to Clarks Originals Instagram for your chance to grab a pair. While you’re at it, be sure to check back with The Culture Curators for more outstanding collaborations and fancy footwear coming very soon.
