The one and only Daniel Arsham makes his return. This time around, he brings his creative and artistic talents to the world of footwear once again. The artist recently took to Instagram to showcase his latest creation, a customized pair of Dior x Air Jordan 1 Highs. Mr. Arsham shared a look at the shoes that he “pushed into the future” with the outlook of his “Future Relics” series. The sneakers were customized by Philllllthy, Philip Leyesa.
The kick’s feature heavy erosion distressing inspired the Japanese philosophy of “kintsugi (金継ぎ).” The concept embraces the flawed or imperfect, offering a look that replicates years of wear.
The kicks are seen rocking a unique wear pattern all around while providing a grimey and unique approach. A new touch of detail is seen on the premium leather and sole unit, while the same aesthetics are seen on the box that houses the shoes. The wear pattern even continues on to the cloth dust bags and the original note from Kim Jones.
