No stranger to excellent footwear, designer John Geiger is back at it yet again. This time around, he’s back with a unique take on his 002 Low silhouette, offering something unique and bold in the process. The designer has revealed a new colorway designed in celebration of GMC‘s HUMMER EV. The sneaker is focused on a moon surface print inspired by the center console’s lunar landscape startup graphic.
The sneaker features a bold, futuristic look, much like the vehicle that inspired it. The uppers are crafted from a special synthetic material that features a strikingly detailed moon print from front to back. The sneaker is further accented with white and black flecked laces that wrap around the heel and rise to the top of the foot. Further details include black heel and collar tabs and a bungee cord-like apparatus secured with a neon green toggle that allows for a custom fit.
The shoes are finished off by an eggshell white 002 midsole while packaged in a box that features the same moon print as the shoe’s upper. Geiger spoke about the design and its inspiration. He stated: “When I was graduating high school and could drive, a HUMMER was the car everyone, including myself, wanted.” The designer went on to add, “Now, having my own brand and being able to design exclusive pieces for the HUMMER EV rollout, this is a full-circle moment, and I feel honored to work with GMC.”
