Style Icons | Bulova Brings Back The Computron Timepiece

The American watch brand, Bulova is known for crafting eye-catching, functional timepieces. Back in 1976, the brand released the first iteration of the Computron watch series. Now the timepiece is back, offering iconic and classic style for our modern times. The new Computron watch series has been revamped and updated with a digital LED display. The new Computron line reproduces one of the most iconic collections from Bulova’s Archives Series which originated in 1875.

The timepiece blends Bulova’s iconic timepieces with more modern elements. This is seen in the watch’s original trapezoidal case design, which was unconventional for its time. The innovative shape presents an angled display while helping with glare resulting from direct sunlight. The style is referred to as a “drivers’ watch,” as its layout allows for drivers to check the time without moving their wrists. Pressing down on the crown once brings up the time on the display in hours and minutes; pressing again in subsequent order recalls the month and day, day of the week, and a second time zone in an hour and minute format.

The timepiece will be released in limited quantities, rocking stainless steel with a blue LED display. The model also comes in a retro gold tone with a red display as well as a contemporary black version on a silicone strap. The series is also available for purchase at watch stores and department stores in the US.

Take a closer look at the timepiece in the image up top and head over to Bulova to find out more. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more watches, timepieces and style accessories coming soon.
