After being announced earlier this year, Louis Vuitton’s three-year partnership with the NBA has begun. After becoming the 2020 NBA Champions, the Los Angeles Lakers were presented the Larry O’Brien Trophy in a bespoke Louis Vuitton Trophy Travel Case.
The case was hand-crafted in the fashion house’s historic Asnières workshop. The case draws from the heritage of the malletier, wrapped in LV’s signature Monogram canvas with traditional brass fixtures. The Trophy Travel Case is customized with a “V” motif in white, while the blue and red symbolize “Victory Travels in Louis Vuitton.”
But that’s not all! Louis Vuitton also revealed a capsule collection with the NBA designed by Virgil Abloh. The collection combines the iconic emblems of LV and the NBA for an impressive range of limited edition clothing, leather goods, and more. The collection features traditional suiting with a monogram pattern of the Jerry West silhouette.
There is also a range of T-shirts and sweatpants accented by a bevy of leather bags. If that wasn’t enough, there are also knitted sweaters, and retro sporting themed jackets, while the blue and red color scheme continues. The collection is finished off by a range of necklaces, bracelets, and rings.
