Like other industries, designers and architects are looking into the future. The creative minds over at HB+A Architects have created something sustainable with the future in mind. Today we get a look at the Box Factory House, a brainchild of HB+A Architects’ research and development department Box Lab. Box Lab has introduced a zero-energy, zero-carbon home dubbed the Box Factory House.
The project was overseen by architect and founder Hafsa Burt and was designed to be resilient to climate emergencies. The home produces a truly off-grid approach, operating solely on renewable energy. The design incorporates two prefabricated volumes off-side to reduce time and waste. The house is situated to preserve the 9-acre site’s natural ecosystem, though taking full advantage of the area’s dramatic views. Utilitarian in its look, the design features ample space and unique elements that provide a modern aesthetic like none we’ve seen before.
Is this what housing of the future will look like? No clue, but we’re not mad at it. Take a closer look inside the Box Factory House in the images below and find out more about the design from HB+A Architects. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more modern architecture and contemporary designs coming very soon.
