The good folks over at prAna are back in the news. Today the company returns with a new initiative to create an industry-wide shift towards responsible packaging. The brand recently revealed the Responsible Packaging Movement, choosing collaboration over competition and sharing over a decade’s worth of its experience. The label is dreaming bigger with its Responsible Packaging Movement, offering insight for brands to make a change and move towards more sustainable practices.
When a brand joins the movement, prAna shares its methods. Rachel K. Lincoln, director of sustainability at prAna, stated: “This movement started as a spark of an idea and has taken on a life of its own. In a few short months, we’ve found ourselves surrounded with an incredible group of like-minded, global consumer brands from multiple industries. We’ve come together focusing on collaboration over competition.” She went on to add, “Over the next 12 months, we’re focusing on collective content creation and best practice cultivation as we work to educate and inspire our existing members. Internally, we’re excited to dive deep as our brand team works to reach our forest fiber goals.”
The company launched the movement last year with brand partners Mara Hoffman, Outerknown, Toad and Co., and non-profit partners Canopy and 5 Gyres. The company is on a mission to create clothing for a positive change, which is a step in the right direction. To find out more, head over to prAna right now.
