The beautiful and always impressive SZA is back. Today the songstress returns with a brand new single entitled “The Anonymous Ones.” The track arrives as we patiently await the release of her long-in-the-works follow-up album to 2017’s CTRL. The artist recently kept us entertained with her selection of “random thoughts,” though now she returns with something a bit more official.
The track is an original song for the forthcoming award-winning musical-turned-film Dear Evan Hansen. The track finds SZA showing off her range and depth, effortlessly floating over top of an infectious instrumental. SZA never disappoints, and she certainly doesn’t start on this one. SZA’s version of the track is actually a rendition of the song performed in the film by actress Amandla Stenberg.
Still no word on when we can expect SZA’s follow-up album to CTRL, but we’re hoping to get more information soon.
