The beautiful and talented, Teyana Taylor is back. The G.O.O.D. Music representative announced the track earlier this week on Instagram and even provided a sneak peek at the video which she directed. Today she officially drops her new single, linking up with King Combs in the process. “HYWI?” finds Ms. Taylor hitting us with her unadulterated style and delivery once again.
While there is no word on whether “HYWI?” is a standalone record or if it’s single off her third studio album, but she did speak with Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show back in February. The songstress stated: “Not a might, it’s definitely gonna come out this year,” she said. “I’m gonna do whatever I have to do to make sure it get out.”
The track finds Teyana and King Combs hitting us with a dose of their respective talents, going in over top of a smooth, contagious instrumental. Snappy, crisp drum work is meshed with some catchy melodies, providing an excellent backdrop for the duo to excel.
Teyana Taylor stated: “This one is a little bit of everybody.” She continued to add “I want to kind of explore a little bit more, get a couple more people involved, to really, really bring to life my vision, and not just be set on one person or one sound.”
