Before becoming a home for luxury condominiums, the historic American Thread Building was a student gallery for the School of Visual Arts. Keith Haring attended the school and created a large mural for an exhibit in 1979. After nearly forty years since it was created, the artwork is still the centerpiece of this Tribeca triplex. The piece is featured in the entrance on the main level of a beautiful 8,000-square-foot loft. The mural is located in an area just before you walk into a spacious, well-appointed living room.
The 25-foot ceilings are on cast-iron columns, while a wall of 24-foot arched windows floods the interior with light. A stainless steel staircase leads to an upper-level mezzanine, including a library, master suite, and an additional bedroom. The lower level is host to a media room, gym, office, a climate-controlled wine cellar, and a guest room. The building residents also have access to a 24-hour doorman, gym, and a private roof deck.
Not a bad way to spend $8 million USD, right? Take a look inside this beautiful Keith Haring loft in the images and head over to City Realty to find out more. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art and architecture coming very soon.
