The Art In Sound | The Love Hulten Slagwerk 101 Drum Machine

There is art in sound. There is an art to sound. This is certainly true when it comes to music and all the elements that we enjoy. Drum machines have evolved over the years, becoming smaller, more compact, and more effective than ever. Today we get a look at a drum machine that is part musical instrument, part interactive sculpture. This is the art of sound. The Love Hulten Slagwerk 101 Drum Machine is a literal take on the drum machine.

The design features custom-built controller boards that convert incoming MIDI signals before sending them to a barrage of electronic solenoids. The solenoids use an attached drumstick to strike a physical instrument. The system is divided into eight cubes. There is one for each bass drum, a tom, snare, hi-hat, crash cymbal, cowbell/tambourine, clap, and the main controller. The system can be arranged as needed based on the stage, or your particular liking.

Take a look at this unique work of art in the images below and find out more about the device from Love Hulten right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the tech sector coming soon.
