The Floating Farmhouse

We all have our own concept of a dream house. Today we get a look at a stunning home that will provide plenty of inspiration. The Floating Farmhouse comes from a self-taught architectural designer. The home has been revamped into something modern and unique thanks to an addition that integrates the former structure. The Floating Farmhouse keeps the same siding and roofing, though it stands apart from the contemporary addition.

The home now boasts 22-foot-tall glass, reclaimed beams, and a poured concrete wood-burning oven, which is part of a weathered Cor-Ten fireplace stack. Reclaimed material adorns the rest of the home, including the bathrooms, main bedroom, and the covered side porch. The porch inspires the home’s name as it cantilevers over the nearby stream. The house is currently up for sale after spending the past decade as a short-term rental.

If you are in the market for a new home or looking to take your living situation up a notch, look no further. Take a look at this beautiful dwelling in the images below and head over to Four Seasons to find out more about the home immediately. Take a look at some more outstanding modern architecture here.
