The Last Of Its Kind! Lotus Emira Coupe

The automotive industry is changing drastically. Electric cars are taking over and the end of an era is upon us. The end of an era for Lotus is coming soon. The automaker has revealed a look at the new Emira, which is set to be the last petrol-powered vehicle the company will produce. Lotus has a long history of innovation, and it continues with its latest coupe. The design exemplifies founder Colin Chapman’s ethos of “simplify, then add lightness.”

The Emira coupe features an all-new bonded aluminum chassis which is adorned with a sculpted, aerodynamic body. The sleek shape is a continuation of the company’s previous coupes, including the Elise, Exige, and Evora. Power comes from the 3.5-liter V6 from the Exige and Evora, though an AMG-supplied turbocharged four is set to arrive later down the line. As of now, Lotus claims the vehicle has a 0-60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 180 mph.
