While many of us are still mourning the loss of ‘Game of Thrones,’ Johnnie Walker is looking to carry on the legacy. In celebration of HBO’s critically-acclaimed series, the world’s number one Scotch Whisky brand has unveiled two new whiskies. These new spirits come in collaboration with HBO. Johnnie Walker A Song of Ice and Johnnie Walker A Song of Fire.
These two new blends boast inspiration from House Stark and House Targaryen, respectively. Together the two whiskies celebrate the dynamic relationship between the Houses. The houses are represented by their house sigils, which are seen on each bottle.
A Song of Ice boasts a crisp, clean taste. This comes derived from single malts of one of Scotland’s most northern distilleries, Clynelish. The blend comes in an icy bottle design with frosted blue and gray colors inspired by the North.
A Song of Fire features flavors of subtle smoke from the peated malts of the Caol Ila distillery. The bottle includes a fiery bottle design with deep-red colors inspired by fire-breathing dragons.
The two unique blends serve as a nod to the complicated interactions between the two great Houses. Seen as Johnnie Walker’s iconic Striding Man uncharacteristically faces backward on the A Song of Fire bottle. This detail reveals a face-off with the Striding Man on the A Song of Ice bottle when paired side-by-side.
