The Making of the Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh

The past few years have seen a rise in collaborative efforts between luxury houses and sportswear brands. Today the good folks over at Louis Vuitton are back, and they’ve joined forces with Nike for something unique. The two have worked in conjunction to create the Louis Vuitton Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh. To celebrate the design, Louis Vuitton returns with a closer look at the sneaker and a detailed look at the making of the design.

The company released a short video and some stunning imagery that shows how the silhouette came to life. The images include shots of everything from the shape of the shoes and the various components of the premium calf leather uppers. LV partnered with Sotheby’s earlier in the year to launch the inaugural colorway. However, nine more colorways are set to arrive in June.

The capsule will include two mid-cut offerings and seven low-top renditions. The sneaker features an array of eye-catching details, arriving in white monogram and black suede monogram, and two-tone styles. There will also be a metallic gold iteration which serves as a nod to his debut collection. The patchwork makeup and Damier edition boast a graffiti theme that artist Ghusto Leone created. Louis Vuitton will also be opening up an immersive experience to showcase all 47 editions of the Air Force 1 imagined by Virgil Abloh in New York City from May 20-31.

Take a closer look at the making of the Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh in the images and head over to Louis Vuitton to find out more. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding style and footwear coming soon.
