The Next Episode | Jordan Brand Unveils The Air Jordan XXXIV

The sneaker brand that started the sneakerhead culture is back. Today the Jordan Brand is back, and they return to reveal the all-new Air Jordan XXXIV. This is the latest addition to an iconic fleet of signature shoes, offering a modern approach with classic sensibilities. The Air Jordan XXXIV offers the best in lightweight performance, boasting one of the lightest silhouettes ever created. Gentry Humphrey, VP of Jordan Brand Footwear, stated: “by introducing new, proprietary innovation with the XXXIV, the line’s game-changing legacy is extended to a new generation of athletes.”

The new shoe strips away unnecessary materials, leaving athletes with only what they need to excel. Jordan Brand designer Tate Kuerbis noted that the shoe was created after “collating feedback from the Air Jordan XXXIII.” A lot of that feedback revolved around “a desire to improve traction and reduce weight.” The shoe introduces the Jordan Eclipse Plate, formed by two Pebax pieces and a forefoot Zoom Air unit to help with explosiveness. Kuerbis stated: “The Eclipse Plate takes  inherent values of the propulsion Flight Plate, a technology that is well-loved by Jordan athletes.” He added that the plate “helps reduce the overall stiffness and strips down the weight.”

The Legacy Continues!

Zion Williamson debuted the shoe, doing so with a dominating dunk at the reveal event. He also opened up about the sneaker. Zion stated: “I want a shoe that is comfortable and stylish on and off the court. The XXXIV delivers on all of this and more.” Besides the shoe’s lightweight design, other details include the number 23 in Morse code, located on the vamp of the shoe, as well as each colorway featuring unique and discoverable marks. Rounding out the design is “J4 — 34, 2.89-2019” featured on the outsole to represent the 30th anniversary. The first colorway to release will be the Air Jordan 34 “Blue Void.”

The sneaker will be seen on Jordan Brand athletes as well as partner high school and collegiate teams. Look for the Jordan XXXIV to drop on Nike’s website on September 25th. Don’t miss out and keep it locked here to The Culture Curators for more style and sneakers coming soon.
