The good folks over at UNO are back in the news. This time around, they return with a new collaboration as part of the Artiste Series. For this edition, UNO has partnered with activist, illustrator, and street-art icon Shepard Fairey. The new deck will feature the artist’s signature style, rocking a simplistic take on powerful topics.
His abstract ornamental and geometric elements are often paired with symbolic imagery. In the past, the Artiste Series has featured a range of artists, including Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Nina Chanel Abney. The partnership with Fairey will also find a portion of the proceeds to the Ocean Conservancy.
The Washington D.C.-based non-profit organization aims to protect the ocean through state and federal legislation. On another note, the UNO card deck itself comes from 100% recyclable paper that is wood-free and devoid of cellophane. The UNO Shepard Fairey card deck goes on sale on July 30th; get yours soon!
