Time & Art! Takashi Murakami & Hublot Reveal Classic Fusion All Black

The good folks over at Hublot are back at it yet again. This time around, the iconic watchmakers are back with a new collaboration that is sure to catch attention. Hublot has partnered with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami on a stunning new timepiece. The two have aligned for the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black.

The timepiece is adorned with the artist’s signature Smiling Flower motif, boasting 563 brilliant-cut black diamonds. The watch boasts a fixed central ‘face’ mounted on top of a sapphire crystal. The twelve petals are set on a ball bearing-mounted carousel that creates the spinning dial. The artist spoke about the design and his favorite part of visiting Hublot in Nyon, Switzerland. He stated that the wine at lunch and his friendship with independent Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka, which first started his interest in watches. The friendship ended in collaboration between the pair.

The timepiece boasts a Hublot manufacture automatic UNICO movement with a 72-hour power reserve. The Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black will be limited to just 200 pieces.
