These days modern architecture comes crafted from all sorts of unique elements. From locally sourced materials to eco-friendly designs, we’ve even seen homes that use rocks and boulders that integrate into the design. We’ve seen plenty of unique and creative uses for shipping containers. We’ve experienced outdoor venues, restaurants, and even swimming pools crafted from these containers. Now we get a look at a stunning modern home. The Sao Paulo Container House comes created and designed by Marilia Pellegrini Arquitetura.
The home comes constructed of two 40-foot shipping containers, which makes recycling look chic. The metal structures come situated side-by-side boasting a 194-square-foot home. The corrugated facade arrives hidden beneath a layer of Dekton, a material made from a mixture of quartz, porcelain, and glass. This combination provides a smooth surface, offering a cohesive white palette in the process. This unique feature offers a sleek, minimalist aesthetic that continues to the interior.
The structure is perfectly complemented with furniture by Oki Sato of Studio Nendo. Other details such as recessed lighting and a glass facade allow ample natural light to flood the home. The glazing also helps to expand the modest living spaces to a bamboo garden featuring a custom-made granite bench. This home is modern but charming. The design provides a dose of unlikely luxury with outstanding attention to detail. The dwelling is more than just a home created from storage containers. The Sao Paulo Container House is what we think all shipping container homes should attain to be.
