Unlikely Collaborations | adidas Retools The Reebok Instapump Fury

Reebok’s classic silhouette, the Instapump Fury, holds a special place in any sneakerheads heart. The sneaker had undergone a host of updates since its original release back in 1994. However, today it gets an update we never expected to see. Today we get a look at an exclusive hybrid sneaker created by Reebok and their parent company, adidas. They came together to create the Instapump Fury BOOST. This sneaker is a blend of classic design and contemporary comfort, boasting a unique and eye-catching aesthetic.

Steven Smith, designer of the Instapump Fury, spoke about the design in a statement. It reads: “Instapump Fury BOOST is exactly something we would have tried back in 1994 if we had the technology.” It goes further to add, “We were always experimenting to find the best cushioning system possible. It is great to build a hybrid of the best of both brands’ technologies.” The sneaker was inspired by Smith’s desire to utilize “no more than what you need.”

Kelly Hibler, General Manager at Reebok Classic, spoke about the design as well. Kelly stated: “When the Reebok Instapump Fury was released in 1994, there was no other athletic shoe like it. Even today, it feels ambitiously experimental.” Adding, “Now, 25 years later, the Instapump Fury is ready for reinvention.” For more information about this new collaboration, visit Reebok’s Instapump site to sign up for updates. The Fury BOOST “Prototype” will be the first model of the series to release. It’s slated to drop at atmosCon Japan on October 5, with only 50 pairs made available.

Don’t worry though; more Reebok Instapump Fury BOOST packs will roll out in less limited supply later this year. Take a look at the unlikely design in the image up top and keep it locked here to The Culture Curators for more on this collabo coming soon.
