Updated & Upgraded | 2020 Polaris Slingshot R Autocycle

Since first arriving at dealerships and on the streets nearly five years ago, the Polaris Slingshot has been something intriguing. Not a motorcycle and not a car either, the vehicle offers a unique dynamic to driving and plenty of power to match. For 2020, Polaris is back with something new and improved, offering its biggest upgrade since being released. Today we get our first look at the 2020 Polaris Slingshot R Autocycle. The brand claims 70 percent of the 2020 Slingshot is new, while the biggest changes have been made under the hood.

The ride is powered by an all-new Polaris-designed 2-liter four-cylinder, which replaces the former GM-sourced unit. The power is rated at 203 horsepower and 144 ft-lb of torque, which is over 25 more horsepower than the previous motor. Torque is down slightly, but so is the weight. This all comes together for a 0-60 mph time of just 4.9 seconds with a limited top speed of 125 mph. Another area of improvement is the interior.

The 2020 Polaris Slingshot R Autocycle boasts improved seats and upholstery, offering a more comfortable approach and aesthetic. The ride is also equipped with upgraded brakes, suspension, and two steering and shifting modes on automatic transmission models. These modes vary steering feel and shifting speed, while the seven-inch touchscreen display with Polaris’ Ride Command system returns.

Check out this eye-catching and sleek looking ride in the images below and head over to Polaris to find out more immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked for more from the world of auto and moto coming very soon.
